SUMMARY
“KLOcKA” is an intelligent wall-mounted clock inspired by the recent developments in IKEA smart home products. It aims to display users’ needs from a clock while at home, create pleasurable time experiences, and connect with your smart life more organically. KLOcKA has two main functions!
1) Display what home members want to see (e.g., how much time is left for dinner)
2) Enhance the "moments" (e.g., improve dining experience by connecting with SYMFONISK)
2) Enhance the "moments" (e.g., improve dining experience by connecting with SYMFONISK)
So, here is the thing, over the past few years, everything that we see has been getting smarter. From kitchen tools, windows, curtains, power chords, and speakers to every domestic technology surrounding us in the home is becoming intelligent. However, why do clocks remain the same? Why are they not getting smarter? One part of the answer is because clocks dominate how we should experience time! They are objects that control how we should live, coordinate, and interpret time. They are objects that force us to interpret what they display. Example: How often have you said, “oh no, I need to leave, or I will be late after you checked the time and ended up forgetting to turn the lights off, leaving windows open, or even forgetting your personal belongings….”
